Mission: To exalt the Lord through facilitating and encouraging worship and praise in spirit and truth to the One true and living God.

Style: Our style of worship features contemporary music that is loyal to the Word of God. 

The core values of our worship ministry are expressed in these three headings:

Upward - We believe that our worship is primarily to God and for God, therefore our emphasis will be on singing songs that direct our attention "upward" (Psalm 22:3; Psalm 33:1-2; Psalm 50:23; Psalm 145).

Inward - We believe worship that exalts God brings an "inward" blessing to His people, drawing them closer to the Lord  as they sing "psalms, hymns and spiritual songs" (Colossians 3:16). Therefore, our emphasis will be on singing songs with lyrics that are full of promises and transforming truths found in His Word. (Psalm 135:3; Psalm 147:1)

Outward - We believe worship that exalts God, that blesses Him and His people will have a positive "outward" effect on those who come into our fellowship who are investigating the claims of Christ. Therefore, our emphasis will be on music that is God-honoring  and culturally relevant (Psalm 40:3; 1 Corinthians 14:24-25).

How can I serve on the worship team?

If Refuge Church of San Luis Obispo is your home church and you have a desire to use your gifts and talents to worship Him on our worship team then please contact us. We are looking for those who love the Lord, His Word, are Spirit filled and who have experience playing guitar, keys, bass, drums and singing (Psalm 33:3).
