Refuge Church exists to see people find life and refuge in Jesus Christ!
Vision: To Love God & Love People
The Great Commandment
“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31)
Mission: To Make Disciples
The Great Commission
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you…” (Matthew
28:19-20). Disciples are
people who experience the Great Commandment, loving God with all their beings,
in a passionate, intimate relationship, and who extend that love to others.
Disciples are people who live the Great Commission, teaching the Word of God
and leading others into such a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, that
they too experience the Great Commandment. From the Great Commandment, comes
the Great Commission and as a result of the Great Commission comes the Great
Our supreme desire is to know Christ and be conformed to His image by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations as such, only to their overemphasis of the doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the body of Christ.
WE BELIEVE the only true basis of Christian fellowship is Christ's (agape) love,
which is greater than differences we possess, and without which we have no
right to claim ourselves Christians.
WE BELIEVE worship of God should be spiritual; therefore, we remain flexible and
yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.
WE BELIEVE worship of God should be inspirational; therefore, we give great place to music in our worship.
WE BELIEVE worship of God should be intelligent; therefore, our service is designed with great emphasis upon the teaching of the Word of God that He might
instruct us on how He should be worshiped. We seek to teach the Word of God in
such a way that its message can be applied to the individual's life, leading
that person to a greater maturity in Christ.
WE BELIEVE worship of God is fruitful. Therefore, we look for His love in our lives and the fruit of His Spirit (Acts 17:11) as evidence that we have truly been worshiping Him.
